Building upon the success of the Khyam Biker, the Khyam Biker Plus has been designed to provide a brilliant touring experience with an enhanced height for extra headroom. We have introduced a brand new colourway and upgraded the specification adding panoramic front porch windows with internal privacy curtains. The Biker Plus has been designed to be just the right size for the back of a motorbike and with the unique Khyam Rapidex™ Quick Erect System, whereby all poles remain sewn into the flysheet and can simply be clicked into place in a matter of seconds. The tried and tested Rapidex™ System uses strong, solid fibreglass poles and durable, hard wearing nylon auto joints. Due to these facts, this 3-man tent is ideal for short and long motorbiking tours, festivals, and any occasion where you need a reliable tent that can be pitched within 30 seconds! (with a little practice)

The extended front porch provides a plenty of storage space, ideal for rucksacks and helmets; maybe even the bike too! The detachable inner-tent is created using breathable polyester to allow for a comfortable atmosphere throughout the night, preventing condensation forming. The inner-tent has a waterproof sewn-in groundsheet for added protection against those pesky insects, with ample room for 3 adults. A brilliant feature on the inner-tent is the pockets for storage of your items.

A separate SPS Groundsheet is available to purchase to cover the whole area of the Biker Plus. As this is an added extra it doesn’t come included with the purchase of just the tent, but it’s worth it as is ensures your belongings are kept clean and dry in the porch area.

Now for the technical jargon – the Biker Plus benefits from using the Khyam commissioned WeatherWeave Pro Flysheet with taped seams, and additional polyurethane coating ensures excellent hydrostatic performance.

Almost Perfect

I’ve gone through a few tent models for backpacking and for weekends away on the motorbike. In that time I have gone from ultralight solo tents to three man for the extra space. Having had a Khyam awning for the van I ended up with the standard biker but after a while decided I was tired of crawling in and out. I then got a Vango Stelvio Oporto bike tent which was fantastic but a pain to put up. The Biker Plus looked to be the perfect option for ease of erection and space. Okay downsides first. Weight is too much due to the use of cheaper materials. There are lighter stronger materials available, particularly for poles, pegs and ground sheets. Top tip to reduce weight is ditch those steel pegs for alloy ones. The windows add a lot of weight and bulk. In my opinion a maximum of one would suffice. Personally I don’t use them at all. It could use a bit more venting as the only vents are at the top of the dome and the gap around the base. Positives. Space is awesome for one and very comfortable for two. I wouldn’t want to try three except by necessity but you can say the same for any three man tent. I now take a cot with me, the excellent Helinox Cot One with extended legs. It fits but bulges the sleeping compartment a bit but not a big problem. I can stand up in the sleeping area and with head bowed in the porch and I’m 5’7”. The porch is roomy with space for a couple of chairs and a table as well as kit. The king poles are handy for opening up the side door but the large front door could use eyelets as well for the same purpose. You can manage this anyway using the toggle rings for the curtain but not ideal. So in summary it is bulky and heavy but offers easy erection and a shedload of space and that all important height for really comfortable camping. I call it my glamping tent for the luxury camping it allows. If you want space the trade off is the weight and size which for me is worth it. After all, I’m not carrying it the bike is!

At Last!!!

At last a bikers perfect tent!!!

Loads of room, can stand up in it and the superb Khyam spider frame makes putting tent up a quick and easy job
Very sturdy so weather not an issue

Not the smallest when packed but fits onto bike rack easily enough or onto pillion seat with Rok straps

I love the black material because I'm not being woken up by daylight at 04.00
