The Khyam Highlander is yet another one of our models benefiting from the unique Khyam Rapidex™ Quick Erect System. The Highlander is a classic that has for many years been a firm favourite within the Khyam brand. We have introduced a brand new colourway and upgraded the specification adding panoramic front porch windows with internal privacy curtains and a porch skylight ideal for a bit of evening star gazing. The Highlander’s pitching and striking takes a matter of minutes so you know that you are free to move between sites with ease. Due to these facts, this 3-man tent is ideal for festivals, auto-touring, or any occasion when you need a reliable tent that can be ready in seconds.

The Khyam Rapidex™ Quick Erect System mean all poles remain sewn into the flysheet and can simply be clicked into place in a matter of seconds. The tried and tested Rapidex™ System uses strong, solid fibreglass poles and durable, hard wearing nylon auto joints. So, with a little practice the Highlander can be erected in within 30 seconds!! The front porch provides a nice area to store your gear or have your morning cuppa!

The detachable inner-tent is created using breathable polyester to allow for a comfortable atmosphere throughout the night, preventing condensation forming. The inner-tent has a waterproof sewn-in groundsheet for added protection against those pesky insects, with ample room for 3 adults. A brilliant feature on the inner-tent is the pockets for storage of your items. A separate SPS Groundsheet is available to purchase to cover the whole area of the Highlander. As this is an added extra it doesn’t come included with the purchase of just the tent, but it’s worth it as is ensures your belongings are kept clean and dry in the porch area.

Now for the technical element – the Highlander benefits from using the Khyam commissioned WeatherWeave Pro Flysheet with taped seams, and additional polyurethane coating ensures excellent hydrostatic performance.

Great tent but you need to be vertically challenged

This is a very well made and super easy tent to set up. The only draw back for me who is 5ft 11 and fairly heavy is that its way too low to get in and out.
A friend of mine who is approx 5ft 8 and slim struggled to get in and out and also had to resort to crawling in on hands and knees and I found this to be problematic for a week long trip.
Other than that great tent, well made and worthwhile.

Highlander Review

I have had a Khyam Highlander for about 5 years. I purchased it second hand in good condition(2007 model) from a mate. I use it quite a few times throughout the year on my motorbike. It is the best tent I have ever had for touring on a motorbike. It fits well across the pillion seat and is not as wide as the panniers. It is so easy to pitch and also to pack up. Easy to get it back in its storage bag. Well made and always been totally waterproof. It withstands the wind well. I always use a tarp under it to stop any mud or damp to the ground sheet. Never got around to getting a footprint. Front porch is big enough to put panniers and bags in. I have never found a better tent and have just brought a brand new one to replace it. Definitely recommend.
