GARDEN CAMPING

Desperate to try out camping now the better weather is here but nervous about straying too far from home? Try out camping in your back garden first! You’ll get to experience what camping is like before you head out on a bigger trip, and even enjoy those home comforts! Kids will especially love getting to enjoy nature at its finest and going on this adventure! Here are our top tips for making the most of your very own homecation!

1. Pack The Essentials
Get the essentials right and you’ll have way more fun. Invest in a tent that’ll keep you both dry and warm. It’s also a good idea to make sure your tent is big enough for everyone, as nobody enjoys a cramped night in a tent! You’ll also want to make sure you have warm clothes, a comfy sleeping bag, a torch and some bug spray!

2. Choose the right time!
If this is your first time it’s best to plan it all out. Don’t head out to the garden on a cold, rainy night, wait for a sunny day that you can enjoy. A good experience will encourage you to go further afield next time.

3. Make your tent a home
Decorate your tent with garlands of battery-powered fairy lights. Tea lights in jam jars create a warm atmosphere as the night draws in and you’ll feel right at home. By taking the time to make your tent warm and inviting you’ll feel like your in your living room!

4. Snacks, snacks and more snacks!
The beauty of camping right beside the house is the proximity to the kitchen… Enjoy your favourite food in your tent or outside in some deck chairs if the weather permits! We love nothing more than getting to use our BBQ and sipping on some cold juice in the garden! Another plus? Making hot chocolate is far easier at night when you can walk to the kitchen and bring it back to your tent! If you really feel like committing to the camping lifestyle try making all of your meals outside using a stove.

5. Don’t forget to have fun!
Once you’ve got all of your camping essentials together and made all of your delicious food don’t forget to have fun and enjoy yourself, because that’s what camping is all about. Plan some activities for through the day and for when the sun goes down. We love playing rounders through the day and stargazing at night!

We don’t know about you but we’re already setting up our tent outside as we speak. Make sure you take a look at www.khyam.co.uk and get all of the things you’ll need for the perfect camping experience.
